Her Color Palette
Whitney began her career in event planning at CBS Sports in 2007. She later became an event consultant for Athlete’s Management Professionals. Whitney partnered with Amina at Some Like It Classic – Wedding Design in 2010 and since has been a major leader and voice in the wedding industry and community. Recently she was invited to plan one of the biggest industry events of the year for the Wedding Industry Professional Association, then after join as part of the executive board.
What are three adjectives that describe you? Creative – I wish I had time to make every craft I think of – I would be Martha Stewart; Classic – My style is refined and so is my taste, I am a Kate Spade kind of girl; Friendly – During the planning process we instantly become friends!
What is your favorite book? Anything by Emily Giffin – I have read them all! And yes, “Something Borrowed” & “Something Blue” are on the list!
What style of Bride were you? I was definitely Southern inspired – everything about the South makes me smile. My family has a home in Hilton Head – and getting to sit on the beach with my fam and reading Southern Weddings Magazine sounds like a dream vacay.
You worked with SLIC for your wedding, tell us about the experience? We have very developed systems for our company - unlike so many other planners. Every meeting that we have together has a purpose in mind saving our client’s time. Your designer will take notes at every meeting so you don’t have to, your designer will communicate with vendors when you forget to, your designer will hold your hand when you need them to, and if you are like me, a Bride who wanted to do a lot of the planning, the designer will step away so you can explore your creative talents.
